Synat is a 27-year-old married woman with three little children. Syan is a housewife and helps her husband in managing their farm. The business location is not far from their home, just a 10 minutes walk. Rice cultivation is a very popular for local people and Synat’s family. She has been doing farming for over 10 years, earning a decent income for her family.
Synat has taken a loan from Kiva’s partner, Hattha Kaksekar, to buy a motorcycle for personal use. This way she can prevent her family members from paying for daily taxi service while going to their desired directions and save more for the future emergencies. Synat thanks to all lenders in advance.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
