Mrs. Soa Y., age 46, is a widow and the mother of two children, ages 18 and 21. Her 18-year-old son works as a construction worker and make around $3 each day.
Mrs. Y. buys recyclable items from different locations in her town and resells them to the recycling plant, making about $4/day of net income.
In order to make her recycling business operate faster and more easily, Soa Y. has applied for a loan to purchase a motorbike to use for business transportation. With the remainder of the loan, she will buy more recyclable items to sell so she can increase her profit margin.
