Carmen works in agriculture, a trade she was taught by her husband. In the morning, they work on their plots of land, which are a 2km walk away. They spend the afternoons milking the cows to sell the milk.
The loan she is requesting is to buy two dairy cows to produce more milk to sell and in this way increase their income.
Carmen plans to use her earnings from selling milk and growing crops, and from the loan to buy cows, to buy a plot of land for her animals to graze on in the future, as she currently only rents land.
Carmen se dedica a trabajar en la agricultura oficio que le ha enseñado su esposo, durante la mañana trabajan en las parcelas camina 2 kilómetros para llegar y en el transcurso de la tarde se dedican a ordeñar las vacas para vender la leche.
El préstamo que esta solicitando, es para comprar dos vacas lecheras, para producir mas leche para la venta y así incrementar sus ingresos.
Carmen planea que con los ingresos que obtiene de la venta de leche y de la siembra, y del préstamo para la compra de las vacas podrá comprar en un futuro un terreno para pastar sus animales ya que actualmente alquila.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
