A loan of $650 helped to purchase clothing.

Farima's story

Born in BANGASSI, FARIMA lives with her ten children and husband in a traditional family in N'TENTOU, in Commune Rurale de OUELESSEBOUGOU, Préfecture de KATI (Région de Koulikoro), Republic of Mali. Not having the chance to progress in school, FARIMA soon became interested in revenue-generating businesses, that is, buying and selling clothing: fabrics and used clothing.

After having repaid the third individual loan, FARIMA is on her fourth individual loan with Soro Yiriwaso. It will be used to purchase 10 lengths of cloth and a bale of secondhand clothing. She gets her supplies in Bamako locally and makes her sales retail, cash or credit, to men and women customers at the market and at the surrounding fairs.

FARIMA hopes to make a monthly profit of 75,000 francs CFA that will be used to help out her husband in meeting family needs, pay back the loan, and reinvest the rest in the clothing trade.
