Mary is a single mother of five children, one of whom attends school. She does not take care of additional family members. She has a pub and has been in this business for 15 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,200,000 Uganda shillings from MCDT-SACCO. It will be used to buy more crates of beer, soda, jerycans of local gin, and other spirits. She generates additional income from a restaurant.
She works at the market seven days out of every week and sells on a retail basis. Her major business challenges include transportation, thieves, and business seasonality. She is aspiring to own a big pub and restaurant. She decided to join MCDT-SACCO because of the low interest charged. She resides in the family house and the family has access to electricity and piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
