Nduku is a married woman, who has four children, three of whom attend school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees. Nduku operates a fruit and vegetable stall business, selling from home to her neighbors and passersby. She faces a stiff competition in her business from other vegetable operators. With the loan, she wants to purchase sacks of tomatoes, potatoes, fruits, and green vegetables for resale.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
