Domero is 58-years-old and lives in Salimpono, Panaon, Misamis Occidental. He is married with four children who are now adults.
Domero has been engaged in farming, particularly coconut and rice production activity, for 20 years already and earns approximately PHP 4,000 each harvest from doing this type of work. At the present time, he also receives a monthly honorarium as an elected barangay official in his community. He has requested a loan to be used for purchasing commercial fertilizers for his coconut trees and rice production activity. The remaining amount will be used for the educational support of his son. Domero has been a member of PMPC for almost three years. In the future, Domero hopes to save more in the cooperative for future needs.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
