Celso is 64 years old, and lives in Sta. Cruz, Jimenez, Misamis Occidental. He is married with three children, who are now adults.
Celso has been engaged in farming, particularly rice production activity, for 15 years already, and earns approximately PHP10,000.00 on each crop from doing this type of work. At present, he is also receiving a monthly pension from the services he rendered previously as an employee.
He has requested a loan to be used to purchase commercial fertilizers for his rice production activity. Celso has been a member of PMPC for almost three years. In the future, Celso hopes to save more in our cooperative for future needs.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
