Daysi Mirian

Daysi sells shellfish, a trade she learned from her mother. Her husband works on farmland with their two children and walks the two km. to get to the field. In the afternoon Daysi buys shellfish to sell the next day.

The loan she is requesting through CREDICAMPO is to buy crop supplies (compost, seeds, pesticides, etc.) in order to produce a good harvest and increase her income.

With the income from shellfish sales and the crop sales, she plans to buy cows in the future.

Daysi de 39 años de edad, es una persona que estudio hasta sexto grado y es una persona casada, su esposo se dedica a la agricultura. Ella se levanta a las 4:30 a.m. Junto a su esposo, para realizar sus actividades diarias y sus 4 hijos le colaboran con las actividades diarias.

Daysi se dedica a comercializar mariscos, oficio que le ha enseño su madre, mientras su esposo trabaja en la parcela junto a sus hijos camina 2 kilómetros para llegar y en el transcurso de la tarde, ella se dedica a comprar mas mariscos para el siguiente día ir a vender.

El préstamo que esta solicitando a CREDICAMPO, es para comprar los insumos para sembrar (abono, semilla, pesticidas, etc) y podrá obtener una buena cosecha y así incrementar sus ingresos.

Ella planea que con los ingresos que obtiene de la venta de mariscos y del préstamo para la siembra podrá en un futuro comprar vacas.

This loan is part of a CrediCampo project to help rural farmers living in extreme poverty plant basic grains to feed their families. Excess product is sold on the local market. These loans are smaller than the typical loans offered by this field partner, and guarantee requirements are also reduced. Individuals who receive this type of loan also get access to technical assistance, information on good environmental practices and increased access to farm inputs like fertilizer. This is considered a high risk loan due to the population and loan purpose, and CrediCampo is one of the very few institutions in El Salvador willing to working with these farmers.
