The communal association "BORDADOS EXPRESS" will start its first cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Centro Focal de Villa Exaltación [Focal Center of Villa Exaltación]. It is comprised of eight members and is directed by an executive board of which Janneth is the President. The members' businesses are varied and included among them are: sale of peanuts and sweet popcorn, sale of backpacks, sale of furniture, artisanal embroidery, sale of blankets.

The loan will help the group of micro-entrepreneurs, of which Janneth is a member. Janneth says that it is her first time working with Pro Mujer, and she entered by invitation of a neighbor who is a member of the institution. Currently she has a business selling sweets; it is worth noting that she started her business with the support of her mother who made a living selling the same product. With the passage of years, Janneth decided to start out independently.

The loan will be used to increase her capital (purchase of sweets at wholesale) which she acquires in the stores of the city El Alto and later commercializes in her sales space. This form of work permits her to generate resources to maintain her family since she is single with two children.

When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responds that she likes the training offered by the institution.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
