Edilberto is a married man who sells grocery goods in his village to make a living, with the help of his wife. The income from this business helps him provide his family with a better living. Edilberto also sells some grocery goods in the market. He says, he is satisfied with his business’s income since he has many loyal customers who visit his place to make purchases. He is asking for a loan in order to buy more grocery goods to sell. In the future, he wants to improve his business to reach his dream of improving the living conditions of his family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
