Mao H., 33, is the mother of three young children and lives with her husband and older mother at home. She is a garment factory worker making around US$4 each day, while her husband is a barber. On average, he makes US$2.5 per day. Currently, her husband just gets the commission from one hair cut because he does not have his own shop. To earn more money Mao H. would like to take out a loan to build a booth and purchase more barber tools for her husband to run his own business. (Mao's older mother is pictured as Mao and her husband was not available for picture).
