Delen is 32 years old, married and lives with her family. She has a farm that she and her husband has developed for many years. Rice farming is the main source of income for the family and also in their community.
Delen is now earning income with her rice production business while her husband works abroad in order to improve their standard of living. Delen requested this loan to buy seeds and fertilizer for the rice production. She is aiming to develop her business and increase her profits to make her husband proud of her. She wants to give her child a better education in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
