A loan of $500 helped to consolidate some debts and also to buy 200 clay tile shingles for the roof of her house.

Santos's story

Santos is a sixty-year-old woman. She never learned how to read or write because life was hard for her family when she was little. Due to their financial situation her parents weren't able to send her to school to learn how to read and write. Santos says illiteracy has made her life a bit more complicated. She is a single mother of ten children. Six of them live with their partners and the rest still live at home with her and work as farmers growing basic grains. Only these four children and herself live in Santos' house.

Santos works as a homemaker. She says she has been doing this ever since she was a child. Her mother taught her how to take care of her household and do all the chores, which for her is very productive. She was able to raise her ten children because she has a lot of experience and she still now takes care of her grandchildren.

She will use the loan she is requesting from CREDICAMPO to consolidate some pending debts she has. She wants to be rid of them and be left with only one debt. The rest of the loan is to buy 200 clay tile shingles for the roof of her house, which is somewhat in disrepair, particularly since the rainy season is approaching. Santos needs to repair her roof for the winter so that it is ready in time.

Santos wants lots of wellbeing for herself and her family. She wants to improve her home so that she can have a better quality of life alongside her children and grandchildren. She wants them to be upstanding citizens, stay in school, and study hard so they can have a job. She says she will achieve this with God's help and thanks to the loan she is requesting, as well as future loans she will request in order to improve her quality of life.
