Bogdan is married and has a 19-year-old son. While his wife is employed doing administration work, Bogdan is a teacher but also is engaged in some agricultural work, working on his own land and the land of others for a fee, usually planting and harvesting wheat and corn.

Currently he has one very old tractor and needs a loan to purchase a new one. Bogdan believes that this loan will increase his income because he will be able to generate more income by working more effectively and efficiently. He hopes that in this way he will then be able to improve the living conditions of his family. He thanks all Kiva lenders for their help.

More information about this loan

This loan will support the economic aspirations of minority people in Kosovo. Roma people and ethnic Serbians have historically faced a tremendous amount of hardship in Kosovo, and are still socioeconomically and politically vulnerable. During the 1998-1999 war, the fighting displaced 250,000 people. Among those displaced were an estimated 80-90% of the region’s Roma population. Today, Roma and ethnic Serbians living in Kosovo still face discrimination and are excluded from many aspects of society, including fair political representation and high rates of unemployment. By supporting this loan you are helping provide opportunity to marginalized populations.
