Benard is a married man and a father of six children aged between 10 and 27 years old. He is a hardworking man who started farming in 2004 with the hope of getting a clear source of income. He works twelve hours per day, five days each week, which gives him ample time to concentrate on tea farming so that he can earn more from the business. The business is located in a rural area. He is challenged by the constant loss of soil fertility and now wants a loan to buy organic manure in order to restore the soil fertility and productivity in the long run.

This loan is part of UGAFODE's green loan program, giving Ugandan farmers the support they need to grow and process organic fruits and vegetables. Funds will be used to obtain critical resources like processing equipment, mulch and organic seedlings to reduce waste water contamination and improve consumer health.
