This San Antonio businessman restores old outdoor furniture into a marvelous piece of art.

Albert believes everything can be made beautiful with a little tender, love and care (TLC). Three months ago, he opened his business Outdoor Furniture Restoration because he had the desire to work for himself.

Albert has the eye to see the beauty in any piece of furniture that can be restored to its original state or turned into a new piece unlike anything you have ever seen. Albert’s dream of owning his own business became a reality when he visited SCORE, a local San Antonio organization that provides business counseling for entrepreneurs. After a brief discussion, Albert was directed to Accion Texas to apply for a microloan.

The microloan Albert received allowed him to open his business, begin creating marketing collateral, purchase a few old furniture pieces to start his inventory and pay for tools needed to restore each piece of furniture. Currently, he is the only employee and plans to expand once he gains more clients. Albert says, “The Accion loan allowed me to reach two goals quickly, to work for myself and continue my business.”
