Ariston is a 48-year-old man who is very responsible with his household obligations, since he has always been known to provide the best for his family. He currently lives with his wife and five children. He is a farmer who plants rice, corn, vegetables, beans and root crops. Farming is his main source of income to sustain their family needs, especially for his children.
Ariston wants to increase sales. Consequently, he has requested a loan that will enable him to purchase farm supplies and equipment, among other items, so that he can continue to put bread on the table in his home, and to generate savings for his children's education.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
