Mukengere is the president of the Tushukuru loan group. She is a strong, woman entrepreneur, 56 years old and mother to twelve children who all attend school. Mukengere is married to a man who is currently out of work. She has been selling various items (sugar, salt, rice, etc) since 1984.

This new loan will allow her to buy one sack of sugar, one sack of salt and two sacks of rice (50kg sacks). Her desire is to expand her business.

Madame Mukengere est présidente dans Tushukuru, un groupe de crédit. Femme forte et entrepreneur, elle est âgée de 56 ans et mère de 12 enfants qui étudient tous. Elle est mariée à un chômeur. La cliente est une vendeuse de divers articles (sucre, sel, riz, etc...) depuis 1984. Le nouveau prêt va permettre l’achat de 1sac de sucre, 1 sac de sel et 2 sacs de riz (sac de 50kg). Son vouloir est d’agrandir son entreprise. Ainsi, elle remercie Hekima de soutenir les femmes.

HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.
