Cantave is the group coordinator for the 'Refuge de Dumas 1 & 2' Group. He is married, has five children and lives in the town of Dumas in Haiti, where electricity is rare and water is very scarce.

Cantave left school eight years ago and has been running his business ever since. He will use his loan to buy cattle, and hopes this will enable him to expand his business. The other members of the group will use their loans to support sales businesses such as charcoal, rice and fish.

Cantave says that his biggest challenge is a lack of reliable customers. His dream is to expand his business and buy a truck to transport his livestock.

Cantave est le coordinateur de son groupe Refuge de Dumas 1 & 2. Il est marié mais il a 5 enfants. Cantave habite dans la ville de Dumas d’Haiti où de l’éléctricité est rare et de l’eau est très limitée. Cantave a dirigé son business pendant les 8 dernières années. Avant de commencer ce commerce, Il etait a l’ecole.

Cantave voudrait utiliser cet emprunt pour investir dans l’achat des boeufs. Il espère que cet emprunt l’aidera à agrandir son business. Des autres membres de les refuge ont besoin d’un emprunt pour tels commerces comme vendre du charbon, du riz et du poisson.

Il dit que son défi principal est manque d’acheteur constant. Il dit que ses buts principals sont l’augmantation du bussiness. Son rêve est l’achat d’une camion pour transporter les animaux.

This loan is designed for a borrower or group of borrowers in Haiti. Esperanza is one of the few MFIs currently working in the northeast region of the country. Through lending, the organization aims to stimulate economic growth and opportunity in a country that has suffered debilitating crises, including political instability, natural disasters and poverty. Esperanza lends primarily to groups of women who cross-guarantee each other's loans. They also receive financial literacy courses and health services. 

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
