Fatuma is a married woman with six children, four of whom attend school and two who are adults. She owns a house that neither has electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food and school fees.
For the past five years, she has operated a fruits and vegetable business, selling to her neighbors and passersby. She mentioned seasonality and theft as her major challenge. About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
