Reyna De Jesús
Doña Reyna de Jesus is a 56-year-old married mother of five children, all of whom are independent. She lives in the La Palma district which is located 10 kilometers from El Sauce, the town where she was born and raised by a humble, rural, and hard-working family of farmers.

Doña Reyna chose to study teaching in order to get ahead and not be alone as a homemaker. She became a primary school teacher, a profession she has practiced for many years, and which has allowed her to prepare her children to be the professional men and women they are today.

Dona Reyna currently needs Kiva investors, through Ceprodel, to support her financially with a loan to buy medicine and for an ultrasound to see what is affecting her health.

She is putting her hopes in the hands of the Lord to enlighten people of good heart, so that with the loan she can improve her health with the help of God.

This loan is administered by Centro de Promocion del Desarrollo Local (CEPRODEL), one of Kiva’s larger partners in Central America. Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry.
