Yeredeme Group
In this Group: Saly, Sitan, Nian, Matou, Djenebou, Minata, Mah
The Yeredeme group is comprised of seven married women. On average, they are 26 years old and have four children. They live in extended traditional families in the village of Meridiela.

They know one another through neighbors, friendship, and business. In order to strengthen their financial capacity and better run their business., they joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. This is their fifth loan, and the four previous loans were properly repaid.

This group of women sells condiments through Sitan, the woman standing at right in the photo. With her loan, she would like to buy many different types of condiments from the wholesalers in Bougouni. She sells at the market and out of her home, for retail and credit, and to a mixed clientele.

She would like to earn an average monthly profit of 9,000 FCFA that she will use to reinvest in the business and reimburse the loan.

Le groupe YEREDEME est constitué de 7 femmes toutes mariées ayant une moyenne d’âge de 26 ans et 4 enfants. Elles vivent dans des familles traditionnelles élargies dans le village de Méridièla.
Elles se sont connues à travers des liens de voisinage, d’amitié et de commerce. Pour renforcer leur capacité financière afin de mieux faire leur commerce, elles ont adhéré à l’institution de microfinance Soro Yiriwaso avec laquelle elles sont à leur 5ème prêt. Les 4 précédents prêts ont été correctement remboursés. Ce groupe de femmes fait le commerce de condiments à l’image de SITAN qui est la 1ère femme debout dans la photo de la droite vers la gauche. Elle compte acheter avec son prêt, plusieurs qualités de condiments avec les grossistes de Bougouni. Elle effectue ses ventes au marché et à domicile, en détail au comptant et à crédit à une clientèle mixte .
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 9.000FCFA qui sera investi dans les activités et rembourser le prêt.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.
