José Luis is 33 years old and lives with his wife in the village of El Frayle, a rural area in the District of Santo Tomás that is known for its abundant vegetation and varied climate. The people engage in agriculture, trade, and livestock breeding. This community is located in Cutervo Province, which is part of the region of Cajamarca in the northern mountains of Peru.

José Luis raises and sells cattle. He owns four heads of cattle and has planted two hectares during the winter where his cattle graze. His wife helps with milking the cows. She also uses the milk to make fresh cheese and soft cheese that she sells at the district market.

José is requesting a loan from Edpyme Alternativa in the amount of 1,000 PEN so that he can buy a calf that he can raise to help improve dairy production in the future.

José Luis tiene 33 años de edad, vive junto a su esposa en el Caserío El Frayle, una zona rural del distrito de Santo Tomás una comunidad con abundante vegetación, de un clima variado su población se dedica a la agricultura, comercio y ganadería ubicada en la Provincia de Cutervo que pertenece a la Región Cajamarca, sierra norte del Perú.


El se dedica a la cría y comercialización de ganado vacuno, posee cuatro reses de su propiedad y tiene sembrado dos Has de inverna donde cría su ganado vacuno, su esposa le apoya en esta labor ordeñando las vacas para posteriormente elaborar de manera artesanal el queso fresco, quesillo y de esta manera ofrecerlo en el mercado de su distrito.


José ha solicitado un préstamo a Edpyme Alternativa de 1 000 nuevos soles para la compra de una ternera para posteriormente mejorar la producción de su ganado lechero.

This product was created to assist Edpyme Alternativa to expand their reach into rural areas of Northern Peru in order to attend more underserved populations. Kiva funding allows the institution to access the Northern areas of the Piura, Lambayeque, and Cajamarca regions, which are generally too costly to serve and therefore less attended by financial institutions.
