Al Narjess Group
In this Group: Mariam , Soukna , Rana, Fatima
Mariam is the featured borrower of the Al Narjess Group. She has got together with the other group members to acquire a youth loan from Kiva's partner, Al Majmoua, because they have always been neighbors and friends.

Mariam is a 21-year-old single lady, who has had a shop that sells special accessories, cosmetics, bags, and gifts for the past three years. She is the sole breadwinner for four members of her family, which requires much effort to continue to develop her current business to ensure that it earns enough to cover their increasing necessary living needs.

Through her acquired loan, Mariam will increase her business merchandise with special newly released products that will meet her customers' needs and requests, especially for the coming spring and summer seasons. She hopes to continue to expand her business in the future and especially to start wholesale trade if possible.

Mariam is the second from the right in the photo. As for the other group members, Soukna is the first on the left: she is a 28-year-old single lady who is the sole breadwinner for nine members of her family. Rana is the first on the right; she is a 24-year-old single lady who is the sole breadwinner for five members of her family. Fatima is the second from the left; she is a 19-year-old single lady who is the sole breadwinner for four members of her family.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
