Mervin, a father of one, provides for his family with his farming income. After six years of experience in growing coconut, he earns a better income.
Mervin needed to purchase fertilizer to improve the farm. He was determined to work hard in order to earn greater returns because he wants to give a better education to his child. With the microfinance loan from GDMPC, his plan was realized.
In the future, he wants to acquire the adjacent lot to use it for farming.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
