Group Sabaly’s four members are married women, who are on average 30 years old with five children. Most of them live in traditional families in Hamdallaye, one of the popular neighborhoods of the city of Sikasso, in the third administrative region of Mali.

To meet their customers’ demand, they are on their fifth loan with microfinance organization Soro Yiriwaso. In this group of women, Mrs. Sanata retails cups. She is in the second position from the right to the left in the photo.

With her loan, she is planning on purchasing ten boxes of six individual cups. She stocks up in Sikasso. She retails from home and at the market, to a mixed-gender clientele. She takes cash and grants credits.

She expects an average monthly profit of 20,000 XOF; part of it will be used to pay back her loan, with the rest going to her savings.

Les quatre membres du groupe SABALY sont des femmes mariées avec une moyenne d’âge de 30 ans, et ont en moyenne 5 enfants. Elles vivent la plupart dans des familles traditionnelle à HAMDALLAYE un des quartiers populaire de la ville de SIKASSO 3ème région administrative du Mali.
Elles sont à leur cinquième prêt avec l’institution de micro finance Soro Yiriwaso afin de satisfaire le besoin de leur clientèle.
Mme SANATA fait le commerce des tasses dans ce groupe de femmes. Elle est à la deuxième position de la droite vers la gauche sur la photo.
Elle compte acheter avec son prêt 10 cartons de 6 pièces de tasses. Elle s’approvisionne à SIKASSO. Elle vend en détail à la maison et au marché à une clientèle composée d’ hommes et de femmes au comptant et à crédit.
Elle envisage réaliser un bénéfice mensuel moyen de 20 000 francs CFA dont une partie est utilisée pour payer le prêt et son interêt et l’autre pour son épargne.

Soro Yiriwaso is a microfinance institution that works primarily in rural and semi-urban areas of Mali to provide underprivileged communities with access to financial services.The organization facilitates access for disadvantaged clients, particularly women, to new resources and services, fostering solidarity and cooperation among its clients. Kiva lenders’ funds will enable Soro Yiriwaso to expand its outreach and target even more underserved Malians involved in business and agriculture.
