Garson is a farmer with three children. He also had engaged in providing transportation services to earn more income while waiting for cropping season. He also used his motorcycle in carrying his farm products. For ten years in farming, his experience made him gain a better income from the farm. Recently, he borrowed a new loan from GDMPC micro credit to use for motor repair and buy tires to replace the old used ones. In the future, he wants to acquire a new motorcycle to use it for expansion of his services.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
