Elizabeth was born on July 12, 1971 in Chanchamayo, Junín. At 5 years old her family immigrated to the mountains where she completed primary school. She is married and a mother to a 16 year old daughter and a 9 year old son. She lives in the Queñuani community in the district and province of Yunguyo, Puno.

Thanks to the invitation of her friend Teresa, she decided to become a member of the Communal Bank “Fe y Alegría” (Faith and Happiness) in Yunguyo. 8 years ago she began with her first loan of S/.300 Nuevos Soles, with which she increased her capital and bought 1 head of cattle. Since she was 15 years old she went to work for her aunt who paid her for her work, and with his money she bought clothing and helped her parents who were very poor. Since she was 20 she has lived with her husband and together they began a business buying and selling cattle. Weekly they would buy in the Acora market and sell in the Yunguyo market. For the past 7 years she has been selling chili pepper that they buy in Tacna and sell on Fridays in Desaguadero city, and at the same time she also raises and fattens cattle.

With this loan for S/.2,300 Nuevos Soles, which will be repaid in 4 payments, she will buy 2 head of cattle at S/.900 each, and with the rest she will buy 3 quintals (a quintal is approximately 46 kg) of chili pepper at S/.180 per quintal.

Her dream is increase her cattle to obtain greater earnings and that her children study and become professionals.
