Freshia is married, and has two school-aged children. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are food for the family and school fees.
For the past three years, she has operated a poultry selling business. She sells to her neighbors and passersby. Her major challenges are high cost of transportation to her place of operation.
With the Ksh 50,000, she wants to purchase chicks and chicken feeds. She decided to join Yehu to access loans to boost her business and improve her living standards.
About Yehu Microfinance Trust
This loan is administered by Yehu Microfinance Trust, which was founded in 1998 as a project of CHOICE Humanitarian Kenya. In July 2007, Yehu became a separate entity from CHOICE and was registered as a trust. Since then, Yehu has expanded to cover over half of Kenya’s 13 coastal districts.
