A loan of $950 helped a member buy cosmetic products.

Benkady Group's story

The Benkady group of Koutiala brings together women who live in large traditional families with their husbands, children, and other relatives. On average, they are 35 years old and have three children.

This group of women sells various items like clothing, cosmetic products, fruits and vegetables, shea butter, plastics, etc. In order to increase the size of their business, the members decided to join Soro Yiriwaso's loan program. This is their second group loan.

Maimouna, the woman all the way on the left, sells cosmetic products. She would like to use her loan to buy different types of ointments, lotions, milks, and soaps in Koutiala. She sells her products for cash, out of her home in at the market, to a diverse clientele.

While the other members of the Benkady group would like to earn an average monthly profit of 110,000 FCFA during this loan cycle, Mme Maimouna would like to earn 125,000 FCFA.

In addition to reimbursing their loan, they use a part of the revenue to pay for personal expenses and to grow their business.

They would like to reinforce their partnership with Soro Yiriwaso so that their supplies do not run out.

In this group: Maimouna , Minata , Fatoumata , Mariam, Djenebou, Adiaratou
