Noun is 37 years old and married with four children, two of whom are under school age. Noun and her husband have been farming rice and raising pigs for resale for almost twenty years to support their family daily living.

Drought damaged their rice crops and as a result, affected their income. Noun is not new to VisionFund. After successfully repaying her fourth loan, she decided to ask for the fifth loan to spend on the rice paddy and also to buy more piglets for resale when they are big enough.

Noun strongly hopes that this borrowed money will produce a good yield of crops, and that she can raise healthy pigs so that she can make more income from selling them.

In the near future, Noun's family wishes to have sufficient working capital to expand her business to grow peppers.

About VisionFund Cambodia

VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.

Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
