Marife is a single entrepreneur who operates a food production business, selling food, snacks and groceries in their village to earn a living. For four years, she has earned well to support her needs and those of her direct family as well. She joined GDMPC and she gained access to micro finance services. She borrowed a loan to buy additional grocery goods to sell. She plans to improve her shelter to provide comfortable services for her customers. She wants to improve her business to ensure a better source of income in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
