Ly, aged 62, is an experienced farmer from Chrolong commune, Baray, Kampong Thom province. She is a widow and a responsible mother of three grown-up children. Ly, at her age, still works hard in her daily farming chores in order to nourish her family. To help Ly financially support the family, her children are employed in various careers.
Ly has requested a loan in the sum of USD1,000 from Hattha Kaksekar Limited in order to buy a used motorcycle to fulfill her family’s transportation needs. This way she can prevent her family members from paying for daily taxi service, especially commuting to their workplaces and save more for the future business and emergency needs. She is very thankful to all lenders in advance.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
