Poch, aged 38, is a married father living in a rural village in Dambae district, Kampong Cham province. He has four children. He is a hard-working farmer who grows rice and cassava and sometimes works for others for a fee. With hard work, he can earn about 37,000KHR per day and save about 23,000KHR each day for future needs.
Poch has been with VisionFund for six cycles and has completely paid back the past loans, which have helped him better support his family. Now he is applying for a loan to buy fertilizers and pesticides for his farmland. He hopes this loan will enable him to earn more income from his current business.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
