Jane is married with six children and two of her children go to school. She doesn't take care of additional family members. She has a beauty salon business and has been in this business for 21 years. She has applied for a loan of 1,400,000 Ugandan shillings from MCDT-SACCO to buy more boxes of cream relaxers, braids, weaves, Vaseline and other cosmetics. She generates additional income from selling piped water and from rental houses. She works six days out of every week and sells on retail basis. Her major business challenges include seasonality and ever-increasing prices of cosmetics in Uganda. She aspires to own a fully-stocked beauty salon and also to build more rental rooms. She decided to join MCDT-SACCO because they are reliable. She resides in the family house and the family has access to electricity, but not to piped water. Her monthly expenses include school fees and feeding the family.
