Prima, together with a group of people from the same community, decided to care for the land and the animals.

She raises cattle for milk production, sheltering them from the cold with their own stable and blankets; and, she does not cut off their horns, so that the calves can be birthed naturally. She gives them fresh food of a very high quality, maintaining the good health of her improved cows.

She lives in her own home, which is located in the community of Patacamaya-Arajllanga in the Aroma Province within the Department of La Paz, about three hours distance from the city of La Paz.

She has several head of improved cattle, which require better care, given the climatic conditions of the area.
Prima's dream is to increase the size of her herd and protect their good health, thus improving her earnings and her family’s quality of life.

IMPRO is a small non-profit organization that has been offering micro credit to the working poor in the Bolivian cities of La Paz and El Alto since 1995. IMPRO’s goal is to fight poverty by offering loans to small business owners who cannot access credit through the regular banking system due to a lack of guarantees or collateral.

To ensure that everyone has access to credit, IMPRO maintains a low interest rate by minimizing operational costs. IMPRO’s partnership with Kiva, which began in 2007, has allowed IMPRO to expand its services while maintaining these low interest rates.
