She sells various food products from a small food shop in her busy local neighbourhood, and has built up a good customer base over her six years in business. Valérie started her business with money provided by her husband, and has since worked with the field partner, Hekima.
Valérie will use her loan to buy 3 sacks of wheatflour, 1 sack of sugar, 2 cartons of milk, 1 carton of wine, 3 cartons of juice, 2 cartons of fresh water and 40 litres of oil. She hopes this will enable her to increase her working capital, and educate and feed her children.
Finally, Valérie is very grateful to Hekima for encouraging the independence of small entrepreneurs who are excluded from the traditional banking system. This is particularly important in this difficult, post-conflict time in the east of the country.
