Mrs. Saom N. is 37 years old and is the mother of three children, aged 18, 15, 13, who are enrolled in school. She and her husband work as rice farmers and typically make about $3 to $4 per day from selling her crops in the market.
Mrs. Saom N. and her husband would like to purchase cows to assist with plowing. During a plowing period, this couple has to hire oxen from a neighbor by exchanging rice or paying money, so to reduce this expense, Mrs. Saom N. would like to request a loan from KIVA to purchase cows of her own to accelerate her plowing work.
