Leonila is married with five children. She is 44 years old and lives in Nazareth, Buenavista, Pagadian City.
Leonila sells groceries and canned goods for a living and has had this business for five years. Each month, she earns PHP15,000.00 doing this type of work. She has requested a loan to restock her store with canned goods, soft drinks, rice and other items.
Leonila has been a member of PMPC for more than two years. In the future, Leonila hopes to have a supermarket or a bigger grocery store.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
