Lirije wants to build a stable, and the amount she is requesting is 180,000 Albanian Lek. The shack in the background of the photograph is the existing stable. “It is very cold for my animals to sleep and stay in this type of stable. I feel so very sorry for my animals. When you’ve got animals, you automatically become attached to them and of course you think of them, just like you do for people. This is how I feel. I will be very grateful to lenders for any financial help they will provide to me through this loan.”
Lirije has two school-aged children, 18 and 10. Livestock has been the only activity and source of income for the family for the past ten years. This will be Lirije’s first loan.
About VisionFund Albania

Striving to improve child welfare, the organization offers a variety of loan products designed for rural, traditionally underserved clients and their families. These products include agriculture, business and household improvement loans, as well as "integration loans" targeted to help the poorest, most vulnerable Albanian households acquire value chain resources.
While VFA is focused on the empowerment of the poor overall, it pays special attention to women. About 60% of loans to entrepreneurs on Kiva go to women.
