She is an experienced entrepreneur, who is 36 years old, married and mother to six children, all of whom are studying. She sells used shoes and is requesting a loan from Hekima to expand her business. She is going to buy 80 pairs of shoes. Her husband is a civil servant. She began her business with funds given to her by her husband. In the future she would like to build a house, as well as to educate and feed her children. She is extremely thankful to Hekima for having chosen its objective well, by supporting female entrepreneurs who do not have access to classic banks and granting loans without any material guarantee, particularly during this period after the conflict in the east of the country.

La cliente Ntumba est une commerçante depuis 13 ans et membre d’un collectif d’affaires « Jerico ». Senior entrepreneur, âgée de 36 ans, mariée et mère de 6 enfants, qui tous étudient. Elle est vendeuse souliers usagés. Elle sollicite un prêt auprès de Hekima pour accroitre ses activités. Elle va acheter 80 paires de souliers. Son conjoint est un fonctionnaire de l’administration publique. Elle avait débuté avec de fonds reçu de son mari. Dans l’avenir, elle souhaite construire ne maison scolariser et nourrir ses enfants. Elle remercie Hekima pour avoir bien choisi sa cible, en apportant un soutien aux femmes entrepreneurs exclues du système bancaire classique, tout en leur accordant des crédits sans garantie matérielle, surtout, pendant, la période post conflit dans la région de l’Est Pays.

HEKIMA is a microfinance institution headquartered in Goma, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), with branch offices in Goma and Bukavu. HEKIMA aims to contribute to the transformation of the economic, social, and spiritual lives of the economically active poor of the DRC. To this end, HEKIMA provides its clients with solidarity group loans to support income-generating activities. Despite ongoing instability and violence in its operating areas, HEKIMA continues to keep its doors open and provide credit and savings services for its over 90% female clientele.
