Josephine is married and has three children. She operates a general store to make a living. She has been in the business for three years and has earned enough to meet her family's needs and to send her children to school. She joined GDMPC and has borrowed a new loan to buy additional grocery goods to sell. She hopes to sustain the business to ensure a better source of income in the near future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
