Jovita is married and, to make a living, she helps her husband work on their own rice farm. It is their main source of income and, for seven years, she has earned well for the family.
Jovita borrowed a loan from Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) to buy organic fertilizer and pesticides. She always find ways to improve the farm, to ensure a better source of income for the family in the future.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
