A loan of $875 helped to buy pagnes, sheets, and jewels.

Bertchissou's story

Bertchissou D. is a woman who was born in 1952 in Sokodé, a city located in the middle of Togo. She is married and the mother of two children. In 1990, she started selling “pagnes” (colorful West African cloth) and sheets in the districts of Lomé. She used to be a door-to-door retail seller. She now distributes pagnes and sheets on credit from district to district and collects the money after a week. After obtaining an initial loan, she rented a store in which she displayed her merchandise. This business that she manages enables her to provide for her needs and those of her family. This second loan that she is requesting will enable her to buy 30 lengths of pagnes and 20 sheets.
