Nelson Fernando
Fernando is a hardworking young man, studious, loving, responsible, and with dreams for the future.
He has a job that he loves to do as it lets him show his abilities in selling and delivering good service. He works for an insurance firm. However, although this is his current job, he has always loved working with children so he chose to pursue a career in early childhood care since he has children and he sees the need for his country to have better education and he wants to help improve this and create a good future for his kids and for the other kids in his country.
He has good ideas for bringing this about, but he (like everyone else) needs resources to implement his projects and he needs Kiva's help for this. During his first semester of his degree he benefited from a Kiva loan and he hopes to be able to count on one for finishing his course as he has had a good educational base and is sure that he will continue to be able to reach his goals. In addition, his time at college has been good for him as he is the only guy in his class and he shares his day with 6 women. His professor, on seeing that he was the only man in the class, made him the monitor who offers support to his classmates and represents them both in the college and outside. He feels privileged to have this position and has taken it seriously, as he demonstrates with his final grades from the first semester and with his commitment and dedication to all that he does.
For this and other reasons, he is politely requesting support for what remains of his training so that, one day, he can give back what he receives.

This Kiva loan will be used to provide borrowers with needed goods or services, as opposed to cash or financial credit.

About CampoAlto

CampoAlto is a for-profit education institute that offers a variety of classes to students from socially or economically marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, displaced populations, disabled individuals, and those living below the poverty line. Kiva funding is being used to pay tuition for students who couldn’t otherwise afford to attend classes.

Because CampoAlto’s core business is not purely microfinance, there is some level of additional risk for lenders. For this reason, Kiva has not assigned the institute a risk rating.
