Flora likes to make snacks and later realized that she can earn income from it. Through snack vending, she is able to support her three school-aged children in school. The business has been doing well for five years now.
Recently, Flora sought financial support to buy raw ingredients for her snack vending business. She wants to make more snacks so there will be more income, too. Flora hopes that one day, all of her children will finish their studies and have a comfortable life ahead of them.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
