Sandra Patricia
This is Sandra Patricia; she is 18 years old and lives with her parents, three siblings and her niece. Sandra's mother is a housewife, her father, a security guard, and the eldest sibling is unemployed. Sandra's sister is a saleswoman and the youngest sibling is a student.

Sandra studied at the local school. She finished at Campo Alto High School in 2012, graduating at a school ceremony. At first Sandra wanted to study nursing but she did not really know what study programmes were on offer. After visiting the school where she studies and learning about the programmes and costs, Sandra became interested in tourism and hospitality, because of the work and because of her interest in customer service, in learning about new places and histoty and learning about historic sites.

Sandra wanted to start her studies at the beginning of 2013 but, due to her family's financial situation, she could not do this. Sandra's parents have to support her niece and also have to cover the costs of her eldest brother's stay at a rehabilitation centre. As a result, Sandra decided to apply for a Kiva loan in order to obtain a discount and to have a more flexible payment system as she cannot work due to the fact that she looks after her niece in the afternoon.

In 2014 Sandra is starting her second semester of hospitality. Her first semester went well as she is a responsible, dedicated, respectful and intelligent woman. She learned many things during this first semester and really likes her school.

CampoAlto is a for-profit education institute that offers a variety of classes to students from socially or economically marginalized groups, including women, ethnic minorities, displaced populations, disabled individuals, and those living below the poverty line.
