Ani Fe is 33 years old, married and lives in Plaridel on the island of Misamis Occidental in the Philippines. To earn a living she has been raising pigs for five years, enabling her to provide educational and financial support for her child.
Ani Fe has been a member of Paglaum MPC from 2009 until the present. She had a previous loan from the institution and promptly made her repayments. Because of her current situation, she has asked the PMPC for another loan to the amount of 20,000 Philippines pesos (PHP) to buy more pigs. Indeed, PMPC has granted it and Ani Fe is very thankful.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
