Cheryll, age 41, is from Bagumbang, Bonifacio, Misamis Occidental, Philippines. She is a parent bravely raising 2 children. PMPC supported her by providing the capital to start her pig-raising business. She sold one pig at a time, helping the family survive. She gives her best efforts to produce good pigs, in order to sell them continuously.
Cheryll is now trying to expand her pig business. She presented her project proposal to Paglaum MPC to finance the project and has applied for a loan of 50,000 Philippines Pesos (PHP) to purchase piglets to raise. She is thankful to Paglaum MPC for financing her capital needs. In addition, she wanted her business to be well-known and to build a good business management for her loyal customers.
With her extra income, she wishes to send all of her children to school so they may have stable careers.
About Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative
Paglaum Multi-Purpose Cooperative (PMPC) was founded in 1992 by the beneficiaries, parents and staff of the Paglaum Community Development Foundation to address economic and livelihood activities for sustainability. The organization operates in the northwestern provinces of Mindanao and Visayas.
In the local vernacular, “paglaum” means “hope.” The initial foundation is dedicated to child development through a holistic approach. The goal is to build self-reliance and expand opportunity so the poorest of the poor can help themselves.
